Learn how to weigh in on bills from the comfort of your couch! Arizona’s Request to Speak (RTS) is an online tool that lets everyday citizens give Arizona state lawmakers our feedback on bills. It’s an easy way to get involved in state politics, stay informed on the bills that directly affect us, and make sure our elected officials honor their constituents' wishes (that's us!). This system's already made a difference in the past legislative sessions to fight back against bad ideas and encourage good bills to advance! Learning the basics only takes about 30-45 minutes.
Training is organized and hosted by and for LD26, LD25, LD18 and LD17 Democrats. Everyone's welcome.
The training material is developed and delivered by Civic Engagement Beyond Voting.
Additional training opportunity: Saturday, January 9th at 1pm.
Once you're trained/refreshed, join us for Weekly RTS Open House and Happy Hour events Sundays at 4pm during the legislative session.
"Request to Speak is a vital tool to make your voice heard and track bills during the legislative process, especially in a world of social distancing where participating in person has serious limitations. As a lawmaker, I navigate through the RTS comments and positions to better understand the will of the people on any piece of legislation." - Rep. Athena Salman
